6.15.09 Monday Insights from Pastor Andrew Conard

I went to high school in Salina, KS and college at Pittsburg State University in the south east corner of Kansas. I have relatives in Plains, KS which is in the southwest part of the state and friends that live in Goodland. I have discovered that depending on where you are in the state the definition of “western Kansas” changes. Some say that western Kansas is west of:

  • Lawrence
  • Salina
  • Hays
  • Hutchinson
  • Great Bend

All this to say that Kansas is a large state and the distance from the eastern edge to the western edge is quite a distance.

When I read that God will remove our transgressions as far as the east is from the west, I find it hard to fathom. I can’t really comprehend how far east from west really is. Not just within a state, but the furthest possible points. It is pretty amazing and I am grateful that:

“The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love” (TNIV, Psalm 103:8).
